We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
- 1 John 4:16

As much as we want to do for God and for His people, that cannot be the main reason why we live and what we focus on. Now hear me out. Doing what God commands is very important and helping His people is very important, but none of that is more important than a love relationship with God. If we don't have a personal, loving relationship with God, how do we know what His commands are or how we can help His people? More importantly, what good is doing those things if you don't have a relationship with God? How do you love anyone else if you don't have a loving relationship with God?

Your relationship with God is the most important relationship you will ever have. In order for any relationship to be healthy and lasting, there has to be love and communication. To build your relationship with God, you have to first love Him... love Him FIRST before anything else. You also have to communicate with Him. And communication does not mean that you do all the talking. Communication is talking AND LISTENING. For any relationship to grow strong and stay strong, you have to make sure to spend quality time with the other person. The only way to really know someone is to spend time with them. This is also true for our relationship with God.

Many of us have very busy lives and we try our best to do the things that God wants us to do, but God is more interested in a love relationship with you than in what you can do.

Love the Lord. Spend quality time with Him. Love God. GOD IS LOVE. Live in His love and let Him and His love live in you. Continue to build on your personal, loving relationship with God. It is the most important relationship you have.

Remember, all scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. - 2 Timothy 3:16
